Data Science Automation Acquires
LCISoft
Pittsburgh, PA, January 2, 2001--- Data Science
Automation, Inc., a full-service software and systems
engineering firm historically focused on process automation
solutions and technical training, today announced the
completion of the acquisition of LCISoft.
Pittsburgh-based LCISoft operated as a technical consulting
firm offering advanced IT and business automation services
to provide the spectrum of design, development, deployment
and support services required in todays technical
business environment. Jerry Lucarelli, previously President
of LCISoft, is now Director, Project Consulting, Business
Automation for Data Science Automation. In his new role,
he will be responsible for expanding DSAs sales
and consulting services on software development and
information systems projects.
The accelerated demand for streamlined processes
and enterprise data management has forced manufacturing
and laboratory process automation systems to share and
enhance historically separate IT and business automation
systems. The acquisition of LCISoft will strengthen
our ability, and increase our capacity, to provide complete
automation solutions that span the enterprise and that
offer long-term strategic value to our regional, national
and international clients, said Pittsburgh-native
Richard Brueggman, President and CEO of Data Science
Automation.
With a diverse and growing pool of engineering and
programming talent, DSA has won numerous regional growth
awards including Pittsburgh Technology 50 and the Pittsburgh
100. The creation of the Business Automation Group will
provide a mechanism to continue that growth and diversification
in a way that directly benefits the existing customer
base.
The Business Automation Group will maximize clients
ROI for enterprise business software systems through
increased profitability, reduced operating cost, and
improved quality. The expanded services available through
this acquisition include system engineering and consulting,
application development, installation and support. The
new Groups expertise resides in e-business, supply
chain management, customer and vendor relationship management
systems and intranet, internet and extranet solutions.
DSAs new and existing clients will benefit from
feasibility studies, technology planning, process analysis
and documentation, project specifications and software
selection criteria, vendor evaluations, recommendations
and business systems project management and detailed
implementation.
Data Science Automation was established in 1993 as
a software and systems engineering firm that specializes
in developing highly technical PC and network-based
solutions for research and industrial clients. DSA has
