DSA Introduces
BioStand at LabAutomation 2004
| San Jose,
California, February 2004 --- Data Science
Automation (DSA) announced its new BioStand product
and development tool at the LabAutomation 2004 Conference
and Exposition, sponsored by the Association for
Laboratory Automation (ALA), in San Jose CA. |
 |
Based on National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) technologies,
BioStand is designed for multi-vendor device integration
and to connect 'islands of automation' in pharmaceutical/biotechnology
laboratories for drug discovery, genomics, proteomics,
and quality control.
It is a practical alternative to high-cost, single
vendor solutions. It can be used to enhance the automation
of just a single workcell, or to integrate simple, standard,
and extended workcells already in the laboratory.
BioStand offers a comprehensive framework to build,
schedule and optimize screening sequences for pharmaceutical
and biotechnology applications. The interactive sequence
wizard dynamically creates sequences, subsequences and
process dependencies for assays that can be screened
in both serial and parallel operation.
Researchers can specify instrument classes, instrument
models, and process parameters based on BioStand modules
for each specific laboratory devices in use.
