Case Studies in Adaptive Automation Results
- In the development of the next generation long-range missile technology, the US Government engaged DSA to develop a common platform architecture to integrate dozens of subsystem agents employed in a munitions test system, including GPS, fire control, telemetry station control, guidance & navigation, projectile health, radar baseband, sensor range telemetry, Monte Carlo & real-time simulators, magnetometers, aerodynamics, atmospheric conditions, projectile initialization, thrusters, 6DOF rate table, etc . The high speed data acquisition & file streaming application managed 30,000 channels at rates up to 1000Hz.
- A leading turbomachinery manufacturer required remote witness test capabilities to empower clients around the world to reduce travel time and expense, and eliminate scheduling conflicts with the many parties involved, in witness verification of performance characteristics before product acceptance. By enhancing their turbine test facility with advanced data acquisition capabilities and web-based reporting, video, chat, and remote playback capabilities, DSA was able to accelerate test throughput and product acceptance.
- A firm charged with remotely managing mis-managed power plants needed a comprehensive suite of software and data acquisition tools to remotely monitor production levels. DSA pioneered the installation of a web-enabled solution to provide real-time and historical process parameters and detailed calculations to accurately characterize plant performance.
- In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, many manufacturers began to design/produce first-responder respirators to protect against chemical, biological, nuclear, radioactive (CBNR) agents. A DSA system designed to characterize respirator performance was written into the CDC/NIOSH standards, and DSA has been contracted numerous times to provide respirator laboratory- and production-scale automation systems. Specifically, DSA was selected to integrate an 18-station automated assembly line with complete inventory tracking.
